Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. He has more than 12 years of multimedia journalism experience, working for Al Jazeera English, Breakthrough Media, Zinc Media, TRT World and Keo Films (for the BBC and PBS). Aws spent three years in Iraq leading a multimedia communications project, called For a New Iraq. His latest project was the BBC’s Once Upon a Time in Iraq docuseries, where he was the Iraq producer. Both Ahmed and Aws have years of experience in journalism from around the world for which they have won an array of awards. The team has developed a reputation for focussing on using the art of cinema to present alternative narratives to how we see the world today. Presenting stories authentically and involving storytellers native to the presentation has been key to the originality of our work. We aim to provide a platform for those that come from minority communities and provide the opportunity to present their work to the world. The production team is currently working on an Iraq related story.
